Getting lost

How tough is it now a days to find your roots back, but what that actually means - we evolve every day, our life and life style changes over a period of time constantly.

You dont take the same route every day, you are here today, you move tomorrow - with all such changes around you. we some how lost us because of our commitments, dependencies and all that is happening around you..

When was the last time you just got wasted?! I dont say that these changes are not right, but see how you have changed, what you have learnt from it, in a while try taking up a pause and see how things have been! This will be interesting!

"Oh - time to pause where is it? where does it exist, you know what, I have been busy all day - I have been on my toes all day, all night with some stuffs around me."

Yup - we are surrounded by responsibilities and we are bound to them, which is good - think if you dont have any responsibility left on you, you would feel bored and depressed....

All we can do is by taking a few minutes wherein at your sub conscious level, you could pause around you and see how are things. It could be when you take a bath, it could when you are driving, it could be when you are waiting for something.

It is not a meditation, it is more of a mental pause to look around you. It would be interesting, you would cherish what you are today, you would thank god for whatever it is, even in time of mess - just take a minute and you would see things differently.

If you could not imagine how it could be, in laymen language - when you watch a movie wherein so and so hero looks at his lady love and the moment they see each other everything else goes to a pause and the camera roatates in all possible angles and directions (probably a funny example but that could some how relate what I am talking about) Such practices could probably make you feel as though you are recording your present life, they would reside deep in your memories and you will cherish them down the line!

Try them enjoy it!

What's happening with the Tamil film industry? Are we lacking stories?

Got a chance to watch two movies - Both the movies are from directors who hold good name in the industry - though the movies justify their part – I feel that our Tamil directors does not have stories now a days to say about

Easan – Movie
Yutham sei – Movie
Subject - About women being harassed
Subject - About women being harassed
Family gets affected
Family gets affected
A boy from the family gets started to revenge the person who harassed his sister
Family themselves get started to take revenge on the group of people who killed the girl
Hero is a police officer - investigates everything
Hero is a CBI guy - investigates everything
No heroines
No heroines
One Ghana Song
One Ghana Song

This is ridiculous!

And the worst thing is - A teen boy is left out finally in both the stories and the hero helps the boy to continue his studies - LOL

Come on - Our audiences have good level of maturity - we expect some good stories, not the same repetitive stuffs!

Onsite Offshore Model - Comedy or Tragedy

Onsite / Offshore - Comedy or tragedy :)

After being into this onsite and offshore model for almost 5 years, onething which is very consistent across software industry is night outs, either it is onsite or offshore
For folks who wanted to quote saying "Check your estimates,.." just drop off because no one does right estimation and even if right estimates were projected, they were never taken just because you will  never win the project then.
Now let us get on to the core on what happens at offshore and onsite

Offshore - there are two categories, one who is over dedicated and one totally disconnected and never cares
Now let us move step down again,

Offshore Dedicated guys : only reason why project runs and business is still on :), he never cares about
whether it is a holiday or not, mostly people who are away from home - so basically no one to care about, no one to worry whether he is reaching home at right time or not. They start with great enthusiasm, when the night outs starts prolonging, then comes a saturation, then frustration..

Benefits of being dedicated: probably if he is lucky enough, he might get awarded (not monitory wise), worst case he might get promoted with a condition (that he will need work more - LOL- come on he is already not going home), there is one more so called benefit (he will be shown a maya - that he will be sent to onsite [lol - unfortunately he does not know the truth behind it - it is next level to hell])

Disconnected folks - they can be categorized as those who are already committed (always on phone calls), verge of getting married or he / she have started looking out for other jobs. Irrespective of whether they work or not, they know how to demand during appraisals

Benefits of bring disconnected: simple they don’t toil themselves, when they are screwed up in the appraisal, the simple bulls eye request is "release" - so move out of it and start doing the same stuff in other project.

So now here starts the "Onsite" part of it.

Onsite - Most of the cases, he / she sits back commanding the offshore team tracking to know whether the issue is sorted out or not, they never look into it :). I don’t know how it starts that people usually get into a mentality of passing it to team rather than working it out.

Again - people does not want to purposely work or he does not know to work on it.

Project will be at its high pressure, offshore will be literally burning, but this guy never cares - just see what he doing - he will be doing a room share calculation on how much he need to give to others, calculating money on how much he spent @ McDonald’s.
This act of cunningness gets on them so much though they were so generous when they lived in India
There are still people who still contribute a lot and because of them every project survives - they actually never care on what's coming in, all that counts is true passion..

Whatever be it – every project goes on! J

Hope you like this blog, post in your comments and your experiences

Indian Cinema

Got a chance to watch a couple of movies for the past few days - we (Indians) make films which are simple but they are mind blowing.

Mynaa

To start with let me talk about "Mynaa"... A south indian movie (Tamil) which talks about love between two (Suruli and Mynaa), they start liking each other right from child hood, they have great affectionate, they know they love each other very much, there is a usual turn in the story and what happens then. The story seems to be as simple as other usual movie..

But Hats off Prabhu solomon (Director) on narrating the same.

The director earlier had a average rating for his movie "Kokki", but this time he has taken his time to hit things in a real good way. The Movie has a negative ending, but it does not make you feel so bad as other usual negative movies. Excellent screenplay, the characters were real good, the chemistry between all the four main people in the movie was excellent.

Some good dialogues here and there - at one instance "when the cop and the constable were held up in the bus - hero says 'let them drown as they were planning to keep him inside the jail and book false cases against him', but the heroine replies back saying 'let us help them out though they were planning to harm us, what is the difference between them and us'...."

Good camera, a simple story told in a very beautiful way!

No one killed Jessica

We all know it is a real story - Hats off director for showing the real thing as it is, I wasn't much aware about the Jessica's issue in detail, I started watching the movie keeping Wikipedia by side. After watching the movie - It just left one note at my mind "Truth one or the other day comes out some how".

Wonderful music which perfectly sits on the movie screenplay - Good work by Vidya balan and Rani..

Hug your Dad

One day I was wondering sitting on my couch thinking about the path that I have come by, we all do it – but one thing which was reminding me on every frame was my dad.
In all parts of my life his contribution to my life making me feel a real person have been a great experience – so I thought of sharing my glimpses of memory
For every person their dad’s is like a real hero who always resides inside their mind. Every child at one stage will worship their dad as a god, he will be everything to the kid “reminds me of the Saffola Add – My daddy strongest J”, then when the days go by child reaches a teenage stage, where he / she starts looking at the outside world and people – accomplishers, celebrities and thinks about “what a big world, how many big accomplishers are there outside” they start following up the external accomplishers then – they dress the way the role model does, they enact and behave the way the role model does
Then comes the reality – the teen age passes by and they become a college graduated lad / girl. Then get into the world of reality where they have to run for their bread. Many of us forget the support that was rendered to us by our dads, the suggestions the options the courses to choose, field to start your career – what is right, what is bad - all these stuffs that you learned from a man who has been running the show, who has been standing beside you when you were failing, encouraging you, motivating you.
Most of them recognize only when we start stepping into their shoes – i.e., when you recognize how patient he has been handling all stuffs around.
Realization stage: you finally realize, that who your real hero is, who has been your real guide, real guru…
So recognize them now!
Send your dad a virtual hug f you are not nearby – if near, go hug him and say “I love you dad”

What next

What next ?? !!!!
It was Endhiran (robot) then India Australia match followed by CWG which is heating up....
Everyone starts writing up a new blog taking up a new topics which is real hot that time - add flavors to it with their perceptions and serve it..
Even me - what am I doing here… I thought I could write one.. what to start with? yes it is "what next ?" because I see the only one stuff which keeps constant though the topics change
We talk about global warming, recession, outsourcing, elections, cricket, actors… so if we look at it, our focus just changes very often. Step back a second and see what could be the next hot topic.. it will really sound funny..
Last week – when I was browsing through my facebook – I see 80% of the Indians talking about Endhiran (Robot) , a very few about cricket, hero comparison stats
Just take a step back and see how people respond to a wall post, comments, comments to comments… the funniest part will be – there will always be a group of people who will always defend (trying to project themselves to the world differently - no one knows why) on what was posted, most of them will be excited about the post and some will share their views to the post..
Reading all these posts keeps me so interested and keen to know what people and how people think…
So just waiting to see what could be the next subject and what will be the people's opinion to it..
.... Keep blogging ....
